Jets rout Titans for third straight win

[EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J.] – The New York Jets raced out to a hot start in their 30-8 win over the Tennessee Titans at MetLife Stadium Dec. 13.

1. Start the game on fire.

The Jets scored on five of their six first-half possessions and led 27-0 at the break.

“We had yet to start fast this year and jump out to a lead and play from ahead,” New York head coach Todd Bowles said. “They came out fresh and ready to go.”

2. Brandon Marshall adds to his already impressive season.

Marshall posted 125 yards and one touchdown. This score was his 11th of the season, which is the fourth-most in a season in franchise history. It is the most since Santana Moss caught 10 touchdown passes in 2003.

3. Get critical third-down stops.

New York held Tennessee to just three conversions on 14 third downs. The Titans punted the ball six times and turned it over on downs twice.

“Hats off to the Jets defense,” Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota said. “They did a good job of changing up their looks.”

4. Ryan Fitzpatrick has found his grove.

Fitzpatrick registered 263 yards and three touchdowns on 21-of-36 pass attempts. The quarterback had his third straight game in which he did not turn the ball over. During this stretch he has thrown eight touchdowns.

5. Eric Decker is a reliable receiver.

Decker caught seven passes for 74 yards and one touchdown. He made several key grabs when the Jets needed him to.
